Our Calcium Aluminate takes advantages of uniform chemical compositions, low melting point, high melting speed and short smelting time. Containing no fluoride element, it doesn’t erode linings of furnace and ladle. As fused calcium aluminate has stable phase and fast dust-reducing speed, the pollution of steel mill can be reduced  which makes the refining technique mature.Without other impurities such as hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon, it can help to improve the quality of steel.Tested by our clients, the stability of our calcium  aluminate well proves.

Depending on requirements from customers, we are able to custom accordingly and offer calcium aluminate in fused type and calcined type.

 

 

Application Field

APPLICATION

Mainly used in LF furnace, Open Hearth Furnace and converter and suitable for carbon steel, high carbon steel, high and low-alloy steel.  During ladle refining, it is used to remove molten sulfur, oxygen and other impurities, and reduce the content of harmful elements and impurities in steel. For the excellent appication, it is originated from the following points:

  • Low melting(≤1400℃), low viscosity of melting-slag, optimum fluidity;
  • High performance of desulphurization and non-metallic inclusion absorption;
  • Enery savings, Ladle refractory protection and the life of ladle prolonging;
  • Faster steel refining times and better refining performance;
  • Savings on the elimination or reduced consumption, cost effective, production efficient;
  • Form slag quickly, avoid moisture absorption, never get powder, environment friendly.

Transportation

Operation

For usage and operation, our technician has following expertise:

When mainly deoxygen, it is directly added into the bottom of ladle before tapping;
The added amount is decided by carbon content of molten steel, and generally the dosage is 4-6kg per 1000kg steel accordingly;Before first 1/4 tapping, the operation is to add conventionally ferromanganese, ferrosilicon, aluminum etc;
After tapping, the operation for carbon steel is to add conventionally manganese, ferrosilicon, and not necessary feeding other alloys and aluminum wire. And molten liquid in ladle only need refining by blowing argon;
Deoxygen this way can lead to reduction of 30-50% of recarburizer(SiC).

When mainly for desulfurization, 1/3 estimated of shall be added at ladle bottom and definitely at the place where molten steel impacts;
The other 2/3 amount be added into molten steel when it flows out;
Generally the dosage is 6-8kg per 1000kg steel accordingly, which is decided by original sulfur content and estimated results.
